I love that, even in our small hometown of Powell, every couple can make their wedding day as unique as they are. Cooper and Courtnie chose to have a traditional wedding along the riverfront just outside of town. The location is actually closed to weddings, but the owner is a close family friend who has spent decades taming the undergrowth, building cabins, and clearing the brush. He opened it up and had it looking just perfect last Saturday. The site is a photographer’s dream.
As traditional as the day was, Courtnie and Cooper chose to add a few twists, making the days leading up to their vows as special as they were different. To start, we drove up into the mountains that hold so many memories of their childhood to shoot some bridal images. Courtnie chose to bring her groom along. I’m more than thrilled with their decision to buck tradition a bit. And since they did, I will as well. I don’t generally do sneak peeks as large as this, but since they chose an unplugged day, I feel the need to share a bit more than usual.
These two really were a dream to work with. They were up for anything, trusting me with my ideas and vision.
I sat on those photos, and sat, and sat…it was killing me not to share them. Luckily for me, I didn’t have to wait long. Remember how I said they were a dream to work with? Their entire wedding party and families were, too. As I watched their day, their story, unfold, tears came to my eyes on more than one occasion. The love between everyone in this group, the connection that they have, is what I dream of for my boys. The day was straight from a storybook. It was full of love, family, connections, and faith.
Their story started years ago, but this chapter, oh this chapter that is starting now, is one for the record books. Here’s a few from their reception. A true sneak peek. There will be more to follow.
And now for you, my friends, to take part! Let’s help this special couple earn some art for their wall. All you have to do to help them out is to leave some love in the comments below. 10 comments will earn them a free 8X10 of their choice. 15 and they upgrade to an 11×14. If 25 people comment I’ll gift them a 16×20 print and if 50 people show them some love they’ll receive a 16×20 canvas! Comment once, share often! Comments will be closed on August 17th. Thanks, friends!
