Letters to my Sons | August

Powell, Wy Photographer | I am thrilled to say that I have joined back up with my blog circle that posts monthly letters to our children.  I’m proud to be included in this group of talented women.  Please remember to follow the link at the bottom of my post to read more of this 8th installment of our letters.

To my boys,

This has been a whirlwind, crazy month.  It was full of your laughter, tears,  wonder and excitement.   Our house was full of school supplies, bugs from the garden and wonder.  We day tripped to Red Lodge, found some loose teeth, and played piano.  There were sleepovers with a best friend and tents in the living room.

Of all of the months during all of our summers together, this has been my favorite.  Hands down.  I watched both of you grow in front of my eyes.  I cheered with you when you reached that light switch and held you tight when anxiety about changes overcame you.  While you were jumping for joy, I didn’t show you my tears.  Instead, I forced a smile and gave you high fives.

This month has been full of changes for all of us.  They are all positive, based on time marching forward and you growing up.  I’m trying to embrace all these small moments, camera in hand, so I too can remember them years from now.  Instead of the tears, let’s remember the spins, discoveries, and flying dandelions.  I hope you remember the summer evening play dates.  We are making memories, the stuff dreams are made of, our life.  I love every moment, and you.

love,

mommy
